General Properties

Mission

The mission of the General Properties Department is to provide efficient, responsive and quality janitorial, facility maintenance, grounds maintenance and snow removal services in support of all users of County grounds and buildings - both public and staff - in a professional, proactive and effective manner and in conformance with the highest standards set for similar operations.

Primary Functions

The Department's primary functions include:

  • Daily cleaning and waste removal
  • Floor care (buffing, vacuuming, shampooing, waxing and polishing)
  • grounds maintenance services, including mowing and trimming grass, edging sidewalks, and trimming around trees and shrubs
  • Maintenance and upkeep of facilities and systems, including HVAC, plumbing, electrical, elevator (contracted)
  • Repair
