In February and March, Tri-State Utilities will be cleaning sanitary sewer lines and installing new sanitary sewer liners in two phases to repair or rehabilitate sewer mains in the Dahlgren area along various streets and easements maintained by the King George Service Authority. Workers and their equipment will be accessing sewer manholes to clean lines and install liners, so work will be conducted in and along roadways. Homes affected by the installation will be notified in advance by Tri-State Utilities with an anticipated work schedule. Crews will typically work between 7 a.m. and 6 p.m.
During phase one on the dates customers are notified by TriState, sanitary sewer lines will be cleaned. Due to pressure from cleaning, it is recommended customers place a towel over their toilet bowls and close the seat to limit spray from spilling onto bathroom floors. This is a precautionary measure and is recommended but not necessary.
During phase two on the dates customers are notified by TriState, installation of sanitary sewer liners will begin, and customers are asked not to run water, flush toilets, take showers, run dishwashers, etc. while the crew is installing the liners in front of their property. Following this process will ensure sewer does not back up onto properties during installation. There will be times when steam is vented into the air to cure the new liners; the steam is harmless. Once the crew has left for the day, customer sewer lateral will be fully functional and available to resume use.
Prior to each phase of work, homes will be notified when they may be affected by the work.
