Overview
The Rappahannock Area Community Services Board has been serving the Fredericksburg area since 1970, offering care for those with developmental disabilities, mental illness, and substance use disorders. Some of RACSB's achievements include establishing the first drug court in the country, which offers substance abuse treatment for non-violent offenders over incarceration; opening mental health clinics across the region; and establishing a mental health crisis assessment center at Mary Washington Hospital. Board members from regional localities are appointed for three-year terms.
