Community engagement is responsible for disseminating information to the public through various channels, including websites, social media and notification systems, utilizing multiple mediums, including print, video, photo, and digital graphics. Community engagement coordinates with other departments, constitutional officers, and elected officials to publicize county programs, events, policy changes and initiatives.
Community engagement is also responsible for the county’s tourism efforts. Tourism brings in additional revenue to the county through its visitors. These efforts support a sponsorship grant for events that bring in tourism to the county. Applications are recommended to the board of supervisors for financial support by the tourism advisory committee.
