The Commonwealth Attorney's Office prosecutes all felonies and most misdemeanors. The prosecution takes place in three courts: Juvenile and Domestic Relations Court, General District Court and Circuit Court. The Commonwealth Attorney's Office also administers the Victim/Witness Program. In addition, the Commonwealth Attorney has partnered with many other agencies to provide the most effective prosecution and service to crime victims and witnesses, including: The Police Liaison Program which provides assistance, support, training and education to the Sheriff's Office on a monthly basis as well as to the Department of State Police and the Magistrate's Office on a quarterly basis; and the Rappahannock Regional Justice Academy on a bimonthly basis.
